As part of the official visit to Vietnam by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the Research Centre Řež stands out as a leading scientific and technological institution within the business delegation, demonstrating its desire to strengthen cooperation in science, technology, and energy between the two nations.
🔬 About Research Centre Řež
Research Centre Řež s.r.o. is one of the Czech Republic’s premier research and development organizations, headquartered in the Řež nuclear complex, approximately 15 km from Prague. Established in 2002, the Centre builds upon more than 65 years of expertise in nuclear energy research and materials technology applications.

The Centre currently operates the two largest research reactors in the Czech Republic — LVR-15 and LR-0 — and owns state-of-the-art experimental facilities dedicated to:
Nuclear safety research and fuel testing,
Development of Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and molten salt technology,
Materials analysis for heat resistance, radiation resistance, and mechanical fatigue in the energy, defense, and aerospace sectors.
🌍 International Cooperation & Opportunities with Vietnam
Research Centre Řež is a strategic partner in major EU research programs such as Horizon Europe, EURATOM, JHR, and the sustainable energy project SUSEN. The Centre also collaborates closely with research institutes, universities, and energy companies across Europe, the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
Participation in the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade’s business delegation to Vietnam presents new opportunities to:
Promote collaboration in training and expert exchange in energy and nuclear technologies,
Support Vietnam in developing human resources and research facilities for clean and safe energy,
Facilitate joint research programs, technology transfer, and engagement in bilateral and multilateral projects related to energy, materials science, and the environment.

🚀 Prospects for Cooperation with Vietnam
Research Centre Řež is open to connecting and collaborating with Vietnamese partners in the following areas:
Materials research and testing for power plants, defense equipment, and heavy industry,
Development of small modular reactors, sustainable energy, and energy storage systems,
Technology transfer and training of experts in civilian nuclear technology, reactor operation simulations, and safety,
Participation in EU projects through partnerships linked with Vietnam.

✅ Effective Approach to Cooperation
Send an email to the relevant department (R&D, energy, communications, etc.) with a clear purpose: research collaboration, small reactor development, technology transfer, technical training, etc.
Call the main switchboard or direct numbers to arrange meetings or schedule technical visits, especially for site tours of the LVR-15/LR-0 reactors or the SUSEN project.
Engage directly with department heads for specific fields, e.g., Petr Březina (Director), Ján Milčák (Reactor Operations), Jan Prehradný (Energy R&D), or Jiří Richter (International Project Cooperation).
Research Centre Řež holds strong expertise in nuclear research, experimental reactors, materials science, and sustainable energy — areas that align perfectly with Vietnam’s goals for collaboration in:
Nuclear energy development and small reactor deployment in Vietnam,
Materials research and reactor safety for defense and civilian projects,
Training engineers and specialists, and organizing technical study tours,
Participating in European and global projects, modeling results from SUSEN, ACES, JHR programs.
The Vietnam Trade Office in the Czech Republic welcomes organizations, enterprises, universities, and government agencies in Vietnam interested in energy, materials, and high-tech sectors to reach out for support in establishing partnerships, facilitating exchanges, and developing cooperation with Research Centre Řež — one of Europe’s key strategic energy research centers.
