OCOP Enterprises’ Demand for Networking and Cooperation
Vietnam OCOPEX 2024 aimed to create opportunities for OCOP businesses and cooperatives to showcase products, seek distribution partners, and expand markets both domestically and internationally. During the exhibition, OCOP enterprises had the chance to directly connect with international importers and distributors to negotiate inclusion in major overseas distribution networks. Common demands among participating entities included:
- Seeking distribution and import partners: Most businesses aimed to meet potential distributors and sign contracts to bring products into supermarkets and retail chains in new markets—this was the top priority for expanding their international distribution network.
- Promoting international trade: OCOP producers were eager to boost direct exports of their flagship products, leveraging the exhibition to connect with foreign enterprises and international trade promotion organizations. Many businesses viewed the event as a "golden opportunity" to integrate local specialties into global value chains.
- Attracting investment and expanding production: Some businesses sought investors or joint venture partners to scale up production in response to rising international demand. Investment would enable them to improve production lines, increase output, and enhance product quality.
- Accessing technology and improving quality: Through expert-led workshops on export-import practices, OCOP businesses learned about quality standards and advanced processing and packaging technologies to make their products competitive in demanding markets. For example, OCOPEX 2024 hosted discussions on the requirements for OCOP products to enter foreign supermarket systems and sustainable production methods with international certification.
Overall, OCOPEX 2024 participants actively sought long-term cooperation opportunities, aiming not only to generate short-term sales at the booths but also to build stable supply chain partnerships for the future.
Expanding into the Czech Republic and the European Union
With the goal of bringing Vietnamese OCOP products to international markets, many enterprises at Vietnam OCOPEX 2024 expressed a strong interest in expanding into the European Union (EU), including the Czech Republic. Notable examples include:
- Tài Hoan Cooperative (Bac Kan): This glass noodle producer previously exported 5.3 tons to the Czech Republic in 2020. This milestone has laid a solid foundation for the cooperative to further penetrate the EU market by leveraging its high-quality OCOP product line.
